🎯 Summary

This release tightens admin video metadata (categories vs channels), fixes AI feature toggles and provider settings, speeds up and clarifies transcoding (CPU defaults + optional NVIDIA NVENC), and shortens Settings copy for faster scanning. Thumbnails, posters, and small DX fixes make day-to-day operation smoother.

🛠️ Fixed

• AI “Enabled features”
  Toggles and the backend are aligned for every type (including channels). ai_enabled_channels is saved and enforced in the AI service, so the admin UI matches real behavior.

• OpenAI configuration
  Base URL and model are stored in the database and used by the service, with .env still updated for compatibility—so “saved in admin” works even when config is cached.

• OpenAI JSON mode
  If a provider rejects response_format: json_object, the client retries without JSON mode for broader OpenAI‑compatible endpoints.

• Video uploads (create, edit, bulk)
  Categories are required; channels are optional—server validation, relation sync, and client checks are consistent everywhere.

• Thumbnails & posters
  Smart keyframe choice and custom covers behave the same: save-on-select for posters, no duplicate keyframe files on storage, and clearer handling when switching between custom and keyframe images.

• Server permissions (ops)
  Recurring permission errors on compiled Blade / view cache are documented: fix file ownership and run project commands as the site user, not root.

  • auto: use NVIDIA NVENC when ffmpeg exposes h264_nvenc, else libx264.
  • cpu or nvenc for manual control.
  • NVENC is applied to HLS encode paths where video is re-encoded (not for stream-copy remux).

• Gemini model list (Settings → AI)
  Optional comma‑separated model IDs, tried in order when Google rotates model names.

• Processing help
  In-panel notes: “Own server” does not skip transcoding; what drives encode time; levers (preset, multi-quality, remux, threads, worker timeouts).

  ultrafast-leaning CPU path, CRF 25 in seeder, own_cpu stack floors very slow x264 presets to ultrafast, own_stack_thread_cap default 8 (tune per server).

• ProcessVideo job
  4-hour maximum runtime and a longer unique window for long encodes. Set your queue worker --timeout (e.g. 14400 seconds) to match.

• Settings copy
  Shorter text across many tabs (General, Appearance, SEO, Email, Player, Processing, and more). Player settings correctly describe Artplayer + HLS.js.

• Admin video forms
  Categories are shown before channels where the layout allows.

• Changelog & docs
  Product-style changelog and release notes for v1.0.1.

🧰 Upgrade & operations

1. Re-save Settings → Processing if you want h264_accelerator and the Gemini list in the database; otherwise code defaults apply.
2. NVENC needs a supported GPU and an ffmpeg build with h264_nvenc. If unavailable, auto falls back to libx264.
3. Set queue worker --timeout ≥ 14400 so long jobs are not killed early.
4. If you still use slow CPU presets and high CRF (e.g. slow + CRF 18), update them under Settings → Processing for much shorter encodes on CPU.
